Implantology

Dental implant is an artificial root created to replace the natural one. They are titanium screws that are inserted into the jaw through surgical procedures to support the artificial teeth. If you have a lack of teeth then implant placement may be the service solution for you. Implants significantly change the quality of life by restoring the chewing function just like natural teeth and preserving 100% of the aesthetics of the smile. Nowadays this medical-surgical device is very widespread because it has almost completely replaced removable dentures or otherwise called bridges.

For the placement of an implant, first a clinical consultation is done where many visual details are viewed, then some tests are taken such as panoramex, blood tests, etc. And finally, based on the patient’s anamnesis, the way of treatment with an implant is decided or not. Placing an implant requires a healthy bone. It takes a period of 3 to 6 months of healing to complete the union between the bone and the implant during which a temporary prosthesis can be used, where the doctor will then anchor the final prosthesis. , prepared by the dental laboratory. Even in very critical cases, when the bone is missing, then an operation is performed first to lift the bone with biocompatible synthetic bone, and then the implant is placed.

Implant placement is done in two stages:

The first stage: is the surgical one where the implant is placed in the bone of the mouth. This happens through the small screw made of titanium which is placed in the place where the natural tooth is missing. As the bone heals it surrounds the implant becoming more firmly attached to it. The healing process can take 3-4 months depending on the location of the jaw.

The second stage: is the prosthetic part. Once the implant has become one with the bone, a connecting piece called an abutment is screwed into it. This connecting part is responsible for holding the porcelain tooth over the implant. To make the new tooth the dentist needs to take a measure and send it to the lab. In the end the porcelain tooth is fixed with a screw or by gluing on the abutment and you will have a tooth of your own just like the others.
